Volkswagen is all set to launch its legendary performance hatchback, the Golf GTI, in India for the very first time on May 26, 2025. The vehicle will be brought in as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), marking its official entry into the Indian market.
Performance and Specifications
Under the hood, the Golf GTI boasts a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine delivering 265 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. Mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. Its top speed is electronically capped at 250 km/h.
Design and Features
The Golf GTI boasts a dynamic design, highlighted by twin-pod LED headlamps, a glowing Volkswagen emblem, and a front grille with a distinctive honeycomb pattern. Inside, it offers a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof .
Availability and Pricing
Volkswagen opened pre-bookings for the Golf GTI on May 5, 2025, with the first batch of 150 units quickly sold out. Deliveries are anticipated to begin in June via a limited network of authorized dealerships across India. While the official price will be announced at the launch, the Golf GTI is anticipated to be priced around ₹52 lakh (ex-showroom) .
Color Options
The Golf GTI will be available in four color options: Kings Red Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White Pearl, and Moonstone Grey .
